District School Nurse (RN)

Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to serve as our District School Nurse. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing health care services to students in the district in accordance with state and federal regulations.

• Responsibilities:
• Conduct health assessments and screenings for students
• Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with chronic health conditions
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Provide emergency care for students as needed
• Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and parents to promote a healthy school environment
• Maintain accurate health records for all students
• Provide health education to students, staff, and parents
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to school health services
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in school nursing

• Requirements:
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
• Current CPR and first aid certification
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to school health services
