Health Service Aide or LVN

Work under the immediate guidance and direction of the District Registered Nurse to provide health services to students, maintain accurate and confidential health records, provide first aid and routine health care, assist with health screenings, administer medications as authorized, and support the overall health and safety of students.

Education/Certification:

High School diploma or GED required

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license preferred; OR

Health Service Aide experience in a school district or similar educational setting may be considered

Current CPR certification preferred

Additional medical or health-related certification may be considered

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of basic first aid, student health procedures, and CPR.

Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and healthcare professionals.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to maintain accurate and confidential health records.

Proficient computer, keyboarding, and recordkeeping skills.

Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency or stressful situations.

Ability to follow established health protocols and directions from the supervising Registered Nurse.

Experience:

Preferred: Experience working as an LVN or Health Service Aide in a school district or other school-based health setting.

Experience working with school-age children preferred.

Experience in a health-related position required.
