Position: Substitute Speech & Language Teacher (Leave Replacement)
Full Time: 1.0
Tenure-track: Yes
Location: Briarcliff Middle-High School
Estimate Effective Date: 2/26/27 - 5/31/27
Minimum Certification Required: New York State Speech & Language
Salary: Daily Rate: $250 per day
Bargaining Unit: BTA

Ideal Qualifications of a Candidate:

• Committed to creating a student-centered, technology-infused learning experience in the classroom and therapy office
• Ability to work productively and collaboratively with the faculty, students, and parents
• Willingness to engage students in project/problem-based learning activities using technology to enhance instruction
• Knowledge and understanding of pedagogical skills/strategies and NYS Next Generation Learning Standards
• Knowledge and understanding of goal development, goal monitoring and identifying rates of improvement within the language domains
• Ability to promote digital literacy, critical thinking, problem solving, and responsible decision-making skills that are necessary for student success
• Experience with incorporating social-emotional learning practices into individual and small group instruction
• Exudes a joy of learning and an ability to work with students of all skill and ability levels
