Volunteer with Athletics � Cambridge City Schools

Cambridge City Schools is seeking dedicated family and community members to serve as Athletic Volunteers in support of student athletes, coaches, school staff, and athletic programs. Volunteers play an important role in enhancing school athletics as well as strengthening school-community partnerships.

Position Summary

Athletic Volunteers assist coaches, school staff, and students in a variety of extracurricular and general team support activities. Athletic Volunteer assignments may include coaching support, general assistance for specific team activities and events, chaperoning team trips, assisting with team programing, district event admissions, and other sports-related activities as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Athletic Director or team coach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists team coach with training activities
• Supports student athletes as they learn, grow, and develop, under coach's supervision
• Helps with school athletic events, programs, team trips, or other team activities
• Serves as mentors and provide support to the coach and athletes.
• Promotes a safe, respectful, and positive environment for competition
• Maintains confidentiality regarding students and district information
• Follows all district policies, procedures, and volunteer guidelines
• Completes required background checks and training prior to service

Qualifications

• Interest in supporting Cambridge City School District athletes, teams, and schools in general
• Ability to work cooperatively with athletes, coaches, school staff, and community members
• Possess these traits - dependability, professionalism, and a positive attitude
• Displays Strong communications and interpersonal skills
• Must successfully complete all required background checks in accordance with Ohio law and district policy

Terms of Service

A BCI Background check must be completed, returned showing no convictions, and/or approved by the Superintendent and School Board before to any Volunteer time is authorized.

Athletic Volunteer assignments may be short-term, seasonal, or annual. Athletic Volunteers are typically unpaid and are not considered employees of the district.
