26-27 Hiring: Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher - Robert E. Bell Middle School

The Chappaqua Central School District is a community of six schools serving approximately 3500 students in Westchester County. Chappaqua CSD is looking for a dynamic, innovative and passionate educator with strong leadership skills to serve in the anticipated probationary position of Family & Consumer Sciences Teacher at Robert E. Bell Middle School beginning September 2, 2026.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Develops and administers Family and Consumer Sciences curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives while also being aligned to NYS standards.
• Fosters a welcoming classroom environment that nurtures emotional well-being and a sense of belonging.
• Uses NYS standards educational research to inform instructional practices.
• Uses formative assessments to gauge student understanding.
• Has experience with evidence-based social-emotional learning strategies to promote emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the RULER approach is preferred.
• Uses knowledge of students and student performance when planning lessons.
• Infuses culturally relevant practices to ensure that lessons reflect the diverse backgrounds and experiences of all students.
• Integrates diverse perspectives and voices into instructional materials and resources to broaden students' understanding of the world.
• Maintains high expectations for all students.
• Engages in regular, collaborative professional development with the understanding that team efficacy is greater than individual efforts alone.

Certifications/Experience:

• NYS F.A.C.S. Certification required.
• Experience as a F.A.C.S. teacher preferred.

26/27 Salary Range: $73,019 - 155,921
