TITLE: Registered Nurse (RN) – School Nurse
LOCATION: Cheektowaga Central High School
ANNUAL WORK: 10-Month / School Year Position
WORK SCHEDULE: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, during the student instructional day and as assigned
SALARY: $30.49 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing school health services and supporting the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assessing and providing appropriate nursing care for student illness, injury, and other health concerns.
• Administering medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, District procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential student health records and required documentation.
• Managing student health plans and communicating with parents/guardians, medical providers, and school personnel as appropriate.
• Supporting students with chronic, acute, and emergency medical needs.
• Conducting and coordinating required health screenings and follow-up.
• Responding to medical emergencies and participating in school emergency response procedures.
• Collaborating with administrators, teachers, counselors, special education staff, families, and outside medical providers.
• Providing health-related education, guidance, and resources to students and staff.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current and valid New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
• Current CPR/AED certification preferred.
• Experience working with children or adolescents preferred.
• School nursing, pediatric, emergency, or community-health experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to exercise sound professional judgment, maintain confidentiality, and respond effectively to medical emergencies.
