Minimum Requirements (Education/Experience)
High school diploma or general education developmental exam (GED) required and four (4) years work experience as journeyman
HVACR or HVACR technician. Must possess advanced knowledge of: refrigeration cycle and related components, water and air cooled
chillers, air conditioning systems and their related equipment. Ability to install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVACR systems.
Knowledge of motors, pumps, compressors, controls, and low voltage systems. Knowledge of thermal energy storage systems, dual-path
multi-zone systems, outside air units, make-up air units and total building systems.

Preferred (Education/Experience)
Associate’s degree from an HVACR accredited college or technical school is preferred.

HVACR Technicians (I, II, III) exist with corresponding job descriptions with differentiated responsibilities and skills. Within 6 months of employment, obtain EPA 608 Universal Technician Certification.

• Collier County Public Schools seeks a qualified full-time commercial HVACR Technician III to join our HVACR Maintenance Team. Ideal candidates can:
• Inspect, maintain and repair air-cooled and water-cooled chillers and their associated equipment.
• Install, inspect, maintain and repair of all types of split air conditioning systems, package units, fan coil units, exhaust fans, air handlers, dehumidification units, variable air volume boxes, rooftop units, pumps, variable frequency drives and all other equipment associated with a complete air conditioning and heating system.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair thermal energy storage water and ice systems; chemical feed systems; water treatment and filtration systems; pumps to include motor changes, bearing changes and lubrication; kitchen refrigeration equipment including walk-in coolers, reach-in coolers, pass-thru coolers, frost-top units, ice makers and all other types of refrigeration equipment.
• Train junior HVACR Technicians on installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair (including diagnostics) of all air conditioning, refrigeration and heating equipment and commercial kitchen equipment.
• Inspect, test, report, maintain and repair fire dampers and associated equipment.
• Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring as it relates to refrigeration controls and electronic controls systems.
