Minimum Requirements (Education/Experience)
High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate. Prior experience pruning trees and palms. Experience in the safe operation and use of all hand and power equipment and procedures used in maintaining District trees and palms. Must have a current and valid driver�s license. Optional: current and valid State of Florida Class B commercial driver�s license with airbrake endorsement. Optional: current ISA Certified Arborist certificate. The employee must keep licenses current throughout his/her employment with the District.

Collier County Public Schools is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Tree Trimmer/Pruner to join our Facilities team. This role is essential in maintaining the health, appearance, and safety of District-owned palm and hardwood trees across school properties.

Key Responsibilities:
-Prune palm and hardwood trees following ISA and ANSI standards.
-Remove dead or damaged limbs and fronds; dispose of pruning remnants.
-Maintain clear fence lines with a minimum 2�3 feet of vegetation clearance on both sides.
-Operate tree-trimming equipment including: Trucks and aerial lift trucks Chainsaws, pole pruners, root pruners, stump grinders and brush chippers
-Use ropes, harnesses, ladders, and aerial vehicles to access work areas.
-Climb trees using climbing hooks, belts, ladders, bucket trucks, or lifts.
-Perform work at extreme heights, including prolonged periods on ladders and raised platforms.
-Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE); follow all safety protocols.
-Conduct minor maintenance on tools and equipment (e.g., cleaning, sharpening, lubricating).

Qualifications:
-Experience in tree trimming and pruning, preferably in an educational or public sector setting.
-Familiarity with ISA and ANSI standards for tree care.
-Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and work at heights.
-Strong understanding of safety procedures and PPE usage.
-Physical ability to perform demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions.
