Substitute (26 - 27 SY)

The Community Charter School of Paterson is seeking flexible and dynamic Substitute Teachers to join CCSP for the 2026 - 2027 School Year. The ideal candidates will provide effective classroom instruction in the absence of the regular teacher, maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring the continued delivery of the curriculum.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Implement lesson plans as directed by the regular classroom teacher.

2. Manage classroom behavior to create a safe and supportive learning environment.

3. Provide instruction in a variety of subjects or specializations as needed.

4. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.

5. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administrators.

6. Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

7. Follow all school policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety.

8. Report any incidents or issues to the school administration.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.

- Valid teaching credential or substitute teaching permit (as required by the state or district).

- Previous teaching experience is preferred.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to manage a classroom and engage students.

- Flexibility to work on short notice and adapt to different classroom settings.

The CCSP benefits package is subject to the terms outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for members that are subject to the CBA. The benefits package for staff members that are not subject to the terms of the CBA is at the sole discretion of the Board of Trustees.
