Position Summary

The School District is accepting applications for a District-Wide Substitute Custodian to provide custodial coverage on an as-needed basis across all school buildings. This position supports the daily operations of the district by ensuring facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly condition. The substitute custodian may be assigned to any school and any shift as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas
• Perform routine floor care including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning
• Empty trash and recycling containers
• Assist with building setup and breakdown for school activities and events
• Follow all district safety procedures and proper use of custodial equipment and supplies
• Report maintenance, safety, or supply concerns to the Head Custodian or Facilities Office
• Provide assistance during weather-related events and emergency situations
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred but not required
• Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Strong attendance and punctuality required
• Must successfully pass required criminal history and background checks

Work Schedule

• On-call, as-needed basis
• Day, evening, and weekend shifts may be required

Compensation

• $22.00 per hour, in accordance with district substitute pay guidelines
