Job Summary:

Dublin High School is seeking a dedicated and motivated JROTC Instructor to lead and manage the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) program. The instructor will be responsible for delivering a high-quality leadership development program that fosters citizenship, character, and responsibility among students. The JROTC Instructor will guide cadets in military-based education, physical fitness, and leadership activities while maintaining compliance with Army (or appropriate service branch) and district regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction in leadership, citizenship, military history, and related topics as outlined in the JROTC curriculum
• Supervise and mentor students in leadership development, character building, and personal growth
• Organize and oversee JROTC activities such as drill competitions, physical training, community service projects, and extracurricular events
• Ensure program compliance with all JROTC regulations, including maintaining accurate records and submitting reports as required
• Foster relationships with students, parents, school staff, and community organizations to promote the JROTC program
• Maintain discipline and high standards of conduct within the JROTC unit
• Conduct regular physical fitness training and ensure students meet required fitness standards
• Manage JROTC equipment and uniforms, ensuring proper issuance, inventory, and maintenance
• Coordinate and participate in school and district events, including parades, ceremonies, and military appreciation activities
• Serve as an advisor and mentor to cadets, guiding them in career exploration and military service opportunities
• Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration

Qualifications:

• Must be a retired or former commissioned or non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard, meeting all JROTC certification requirements
• Minimum education requirement: High school diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
• Must meet all standards and qualifications set forth by the appropriate service branch’s JROTC program
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience working with high school students preferred
• Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve personal and academic success
• Knowledge of military customs, traditions, and leadership principles
• Must pass a background check and meet all employment requirements set by Dublin City Schools

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Work is performed in a classroom and outdoor setting
• Physical fitness activities, including standing, marching, and leading physical training, are required
• Some travel may be necessary for competitions, field trips, and training events

Salary and Benefits:

• Compensation will be in accordance with Dublin City Schools’ salary schedule and JROTC Instructor pay guidelines
