Description: Director of Special Services

Requirements/Performance Responsibilities:

• New Jersey Principal Certification
• A minimum of five years' experience as a Child Study Team Member or Special Education Teacher or Student Services position
• Special Education experience in administration or alternatives that the Superintendent and Board may find appropriate
• Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of special education law, code and guidelines
• Oversee the district special education programs, child study team, school nursing services, and other areas as directed
• Responsible for state and federal reporting, IDEA, SEMI, and ESSA
• Familiar with Frontline and Genesis platforms
• Primary responsibility for all child find activities and community outreach programs
• Knowledge in developing and implementing in-district programs
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
