GENERAL STATEMENT
OF JOB:
Dutchess BOCES' Adult Learning Institute is looking for qualified Plumbing Instructor to share their expertise and train adults seeking to learn basic plumbing skills necessary to make home repairs and updates. This is a part-time evening position. The course is 10 sessions totaling 30 hours. It runs 2 evenings per week, for 3 hours per night.

QUALIFICATIONS,
EXPERIENCE AND
COMPETENCIES:
The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of experience on the job, and an associate's degree, but the right candidate's experience level will be taken into consideration over education.

DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The chosen candidate will instruct adults who are interested in learning basic plumbing skills necessary to make basic repairs or updates to their homes. There are multiple sessions scheduled throughout the year. The class will include opportunities for the learners to determine what skills they would like to learn, opportunities to learn all necessary requirements for the tasks (i.e. measuring/cutting, etc.), both through modeling and application. The instructor will share all important safety information including wearing eye protection and how to use the required tools/resources correctly on the first day, and throughout the sessions as reminders. Some possible repair/remodel skills that may be taught include pipe cutting and soldering, sealing, fixture installations and other tasks at the instructor's discretion.

SALARY: $28- $30 per hour (depending on experience)
