GENERAL STATEMENT
OF JOB:
Under the general supervision of a certified classroom teacher, the Teaching Assistant provides instructional and behavioral support to students to enhance their academic growth and social-emotional development. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the educational team to reinforce lessons, assist with classroom management, and implement individualized learning plans in accordance with New York State Department of Education regulations and district policies.

• QUALIFICATIONS,
• EXPERIENCE AND
• COMPETENCIES:
• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum required by NYSED).
• Must hold or be eligible for a valid New York State Teaching Assistant Certificate
• State-Mandated Workshops: Evidence of completion NYS workshops:
• Clearance: Must clear the NYS Education Department fingerprinting

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
AND ABILITIES
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Basic knowledge of core subject areas (literacy, math) and how to scaffold lessons for diverse learning styles.
• Skilled in proactive classroom management and implementing positive behavior intervention strategies.
• Ability to interpret and accurately deliver specialized testing accommodations and behavior plans.

• SALARY: $25, 920 - $ 38,567 approximate ( BOCES Faculty Association contract)
