Substitute Teacher

• In addition to Board of Education approval and the completion of required documentation, see below for requirements to substitute teach at Franklin Borough School:
• New and Active Substitutes in Other Districts
• Provide a valid NJ Substitute Certificateor NJ Teaching Certificate and complete Frontline online application.
• Complete Criminal History Review with the Office of Student Protection: https://www.nj.gov/education/crimhist/.
• Provide Documentation of Mantoux test with date and results. Please provide your most recent Mantoux/TB result per guidance from the NJ DOE: "TB testing is not recommended for new employees, student teachers, and contractors of the district with a documented tuberculosis test result, regardless of when this test was done. Repeat TB testing is not required in the absence of a known or suspected exposure to active and infectious TB disease or unless otherwise ordered by a licensed clinician."

• Complete the Criminal History Review process with the Office of Student Protection: https://nj.gov/education/crimhist/

• Apply for a substitute teaching credential (initial or renewal)by creating an account in NJEdCert: https://njedcert.force.com/manage/s/
• Follow the directions provided on each screen to complete the application.
• Once you submit the fee, you will be able to upload your fingerprint clearance directly to your NJEdCert account.
• Your college must submit your official transcript via email to: certapplication@doe.nj.gov
