ANTICIPATED - Groundskeeper

Qualifications:

• Must pass physical examination
• Must hold a valid NJ Driver's License
• Must be able to lift unassisted a minimum of 50 pounds
• Must earn a Black Seal Boiler License within one (1) year of employment

Responsibilities

• Perform, under general supervision, grounds and field maintenance work requiring the use of hand tools and power tools to include but not limited to mowing lawns, planting shrubbery, applying fertilizers and chemicals, pruning trees/shrubs. Perform general duties associated with athletic field preparation and maintenance to include mowing, raking, and lining. Make the necessary adjustments and repairs of such equipment as lawn mowers and hand tools associated with grounds maintenance. Observe the rules of safety at all times during the operation of assigned tasks
• Shovels and/or plow snow from sidewalks and driveways and spread sand or ice melt as needed. Use and operate appropriate equipment to include but not limited to a hand shovel, snow blower and plow
• Possess the appropriate N.J. Drivers License and maintain same in validated condition. When operating a motor vehicle owned by the district, all local and state laws are to be observed. Observe all rules of upkeep on motor vehicle and mechanized equipment to include but not limited to regular oil checks and scheduling service
• Report to work on time as scheduled and perform designated work in a safe manner following all rules and regulations established or instituted. Work overtime as needed to meet the needs of the district. Respond to emergency call outs as directed. Report all emergencies to immediate Supervisor
• Maintain a clean and safe work area. Leave work area and storage areas in a clean and safe condition on completion of assignment
• Demonstrate the ability to read and follow written and/or oral instructions. Demonstrate the capacity to plan and organize when assigned a task
• Be able to climb ladders and scaffolding as work requires. Be able to lift unassisted a minimum of 50 pounds. Pass fitness for duty exam prior to start date in order to demonstrate ability to perform essential duties and assigned responsibilities
• Perform various other duties and fulfill additional responsibilities within the district as assigned

• Salary - $42,250 � to be prorated based on start date
