Substitute Lifeguard

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must be stationed in the lifeguard chair and supervise the safety and rescue of swimming participants.
• Set up required equipment for class activity and put away at the end of the day;
• Supervise locker rooms and hallways before and after class;
• Assist in record keeping where necessary;
• Assist in intramural activities with a qualified teacher;
• Supervises, as needed, athletic teams until the coach arrives to assume his/her responsibilities;
• Performs related work as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency diploma;
• Must possess a current Lifeguard Training Certification;
• Preferred possession of current First Aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation cards;
• Must have a basic knowledge of physical education activities.
