Position Description

SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Director of Transportation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1.: Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
2.: Attends annual DOE School Bus Driver Safety meeting.
3.: Attends all school bus training programs and courses as prescribed by the State of Georgia or the Stephens County Board of Education..
4.: Maintains orderly conduct of student passengers, remain alert to students’ needs and interact appropriately..
5.: Assists with conducting emergency evacuation drills as directed by the Transportation Department.
6.: Communicates effectively and professional with school staff and public.
7.: Completes required reports legibly and accurately in the prescribed manner and on a timely basis.
8.: Communicates effectively and professionally with school staff and public.
9.: Provides maximum safety for passengers while on the bus and during loading/unloading, which could include evacuation of students from a bus in case of an emergency..
10.: Assists with medical procedures for students.
11.: Maintains a good working relationship with driver.
12.: Maintains proper storage of all student equipment.
13.: Maintains confidentiality.
14.: Works effectively and cooperatively with administrators, teachers and staff.
15.: Handles all duties in a timely and organized manner.
16.: Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or GED
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
REQUIRED DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Employee must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function of the position.
