Position Title:: Reading Teacher - Interventionist (STS)
Anticipated Employment Date:: January 4, 2027 to June 30, 2027
Anticipated Work Location/Hours:: Sidway Elementary, 8:35 AM to 3:35 PM
Salary:: BA Step 1 $49,447 or MA Step 1 $52,190 per GITA contract
Duties:: The reading intervention teacher is responsible for targeted small-group & individual instruction with a focus on essential literacy pillars, assessment and screening, progress

monitoring, collaboration with classroom teachers, and data tracking & reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:: ● Hold at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited Institution

● Complete and approved teacher preparation program with a focus in literacy

● Completion of NYS required training workshops (i.e. Child Abuse Identification & Reporting, School Violence Intervention, and DASA)

● Background check including fingerprinting
Qualifications Desired:: ● Science of Reading mastery

● Skill in diagnostic assessments

● Ability to design explicit and systematic instruction

• ● Familiarity with special education & learning disabilities (i.e. dyslexia)
