Position: Substitute School Nurse
Pay: $200/day

Job Summary

The Substitute School Nurse provides preventive and direct health services to foster students' physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being. By managing acute and chronic health needs, conducting assessments, and offering health education, this role directly supports the educational process by keeping students healthy, safe, and ready to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care, triage, and emergency first aid to students and staff as needed.
• Identify student health concerns through early case finding, assessment, and appropriate referrals to prevent long-term health complications.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential student health records in compliance with state standards.
• Collaborate with school administration, teachers, and parents to support individual student healthcare plans.
• Promote a safe, healthy school environment through health education and proactive wellness practices.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Certification: NJ Certified School Nurse (CSN) endorsement preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience in a school, pediatric, or community health setting preferred.
• Skills: Strong clinical assessment capabilities, clear communication, and compassionate care delivery.
