Head Baseball Coach/Teaching Subject TBD

Position Summary

The Head Baseball Coach and High School Teacher is responsible for planning and executing an academic curriculum in their assigned subject area while leading all aspects of the high school baseball program. This role requires fostering academic excellence, personal character, sportsmanship, and athletic skill development across the school's baseball team and program levels.

Teacher Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver standards-aligned lesson plans for high school courses.
• Manage classroom environment, promote student engagement, and evaluate student progress.
• Assess student performance through assignments, quizzes, and projects; maintain accurate gradebook records.
• Communicate regularly with parents, administrators, and support staff regarding student academic growth and behavior.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and department planning sessions.

Head Baseball Coach Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices, team strategy sessions, and game management.
• Oversee the selection, conditioning, and instruction of student-athletes in baseball fundamentals and team strategy.
• Ensure student-athletes maintain academic eligibility and follow all school and athletic department rules.
• Manage team inventory, equipment, uniforms, field maintenance, and game-day logistics.
• Promote physical safety, proper sportsmanship, team unity, and character development among players.
• Coordinate program operations, assistant coaching duties, and lower-level (JV/Freshman) teams.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Certification: Valid State Teaching Certification in the relevant subject area.
• Coaching Certifications: First Aid, CPR/AED, and state high school athletic association certifications (e.g., NFHS, UIL, or state-equivalent training).
• Experience: Teaching experience at the secondary level; coaching experience as a baseball head coach or varsity assistant preferred.
