School Nurses

Requirements:

• New Jersey School Nurse Certification (3000 or 3010) or be able to obtain Emergency School Nurse Certification:
• Candidates who possess an active NJ Registered Nurse license but lack a school Nurse endorsement are eligible for District sponsorship to secure Emergency Certification through the New Jersey Department of Education.
• Candidates for Emergency School Nurse Certification must have:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Current New Jersey Registered Professional Nurse License
• Current CPR and AED certification

Effective:

2026-2027 School Year

Salary:

• As per salary guide based on experience and earned degree level
• 2026-2027 Minimum $67,958 - maximum $99,181
• (Effective July 1, 2027) 2027-2028 Minimum $74,914 - maximum $99,965

Work Week Highlights:

• Monday through Friday 7.5 hour work day with paid lunch.
• No evening requirements.
• No weekend requirements.

2026-2027 Work Year Highlights:

• 10 Month Work Year (8/31/26 - 6/17/27)
• 4 Day early November Recess (Thu 11/5 - Sun 11/8)
• 4 Day Thanksgiving Recess (Thu 11/26 - Sun 11/29)
• 11 Day Winter Recess (Thu 12/24 - Sun 1/3/27)
• 6 Day Spring Recess (Thu 3/25 - Tue 3/30)

Benefits:

Will be entered into the appropriate NJ Pension Program.
