Speech Language Pathologist

The North Plainfield School District, a culturally diverse school community in Somerset County serving approximately 3,700 students in Pre-K through Grade 12, is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Speech-Language Pathologist.

Performance Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Evaluate, identify, and provide speech-language therapy services to students in Pre-K through Grade 8.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, school psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, administrators, and families to provide a multidisciplinary approach to student support.
• Provide services to students at Wharton Borough Public Schools and affiliated preschool centers located a short distance from the district.
• Maintain accurate documentation, therapy records, and progress reports.
• Participate in Child Study Team meetings, IEP meetings, evaluations, and other multidisciplinary planning sessions.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to support students with a variety of communication needs, including articulation, language, fluency, voice, pragmatic language, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) when appropriate.
• Conduct screenings, evaluations, and reevaluations in accordance with district procedures and New Jersey state regulations.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and recommendations .

Qualifications

• New Jersey Speech Language Specialist School Certification required.
• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders preferred
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or eligibility to obtain.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaborative skills.
• Experience working with preschool and school-age students is preferred.

Salary Range & Benefits

69,630 (minimum) to 103,470 (maximum) commensurate with experience and in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
