Student Secretary (Grades K-5)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains accurate records of student attendance
• Responsible for sending out student records when there are transfers and receiving student records when students transfer into the district
• Print class, and bus lists, and any other reports deemed necessary
• Serve as a receptionist receiving telephone calls and guests to the school and directing them to the correct people and places
• Assist with processing correspondence, student information, filing, distribution and collection of materials
• Establish and maintain positive professional relationships with students, staff, administration, families and community
• Present a positive image of the school and a welcoming demeanor

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma
• Strong secretarial skills, including typing, filing, and organizational skills
• Knowledge of computers, necessary
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment and discretion in performing duties
• Ability to speak Spanish is preferred

Employment Terms/Hours:

10 month position; 7.5 hrs/day

Salary: As per current support staff contract
