Dispatcher (2026-2027)

Description:
Knowledge of county geography and roads. Knowledge of Federal Communications Commission
(FCC) communication codes preferred. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to communicate
effectively with administrators, bus drivers, school staff and parents. Ability to work effectively
with school system staff and parents. Ability to troubleshoot problems and implement corrective
action. Knowledge of office procedures and practices. Ability to maintain accurate records. Basic
computer skills. Ability to handle emergency situations.

Job Summary:
To coordinate and support the safe, efficient, and timely operation of district
transportation services by dispatching drivers and vehicles, maintaining effective
communication systems, assisting with route operations, and assisting with routing and
transportation software systems.

• Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years experience driving a school bus and in transportation routing.
• Experience in the use of a two-way radio.
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.

Salary Information: Support Personnel. Pay Grade 10. Two hundred fifty days worked per year (12 months). FLSA Non-Exempt.
