School Counselor - Leave Replacement Position

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid NJDOE K-12 School Counseling Certificate.
• Demonstrated knowledge of subject specialty and effective counseling methods.
• Ability to maintain a positive planning experience, to assess student needs and to provide appropriate support.
• Ability to work collaboratively with administrators and teachers to promote student success.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with high school students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
• Must meet NJ Residency requirements as per the New Jersey First Act, N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70).

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Kenilworth Board of Education's Leave Replacement rates and benefits:

Per Diem: $125
per day: The employee is not eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick and personal leave accruals (pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement), and enrollment in the New Jersey Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) or the Public Employees' Retirement System.

Long-term sub less
than 6 months: $250
per day: The employee is not eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick and personal leave accruals (pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement), and enrollment in the New Jersey Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) or the Public Employees' Retirement System.

Long-term sub 6
months or longer: $345
per day: The employee is not eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick and personal leave accruals (pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement), and enrollment in the New Jersey Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) or the Public Employees' Retirement System.

Long-term, full school
year assignment: Step 1
BA: Benefits the first of the month after 30 days of service.

• The position is not eligible for additional compensation in the form of stipends for
• extracurricular activities, coaching, or tuition reimbursement based on district policy.
• In accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:16-1:1, time accrued in a leave replacement position does not
• count towards tenure.
