Position Title: Mechanic
Education Required: High School Diploma

Previous Experience Required:
Seeking a highly motivated self-starter who possesses knowledge and skill in the
maintenance and repair of school buses, vans and all other corporation
vehicles.

General Description of Position Duties:
Serves as a Mechanic in the Transportation Department. Working knowledge of gas and diesel engine repair. Required to have a valid CDL or willingness to obtain.
Maintain a high standard of safety. Performs such other job related duties as may be assigned by the Director of Transportation.

Hours will be 8:00a.m.– 5:00p.m. with possible overtime on an as needed basis.

Special Skills, Training or Aptitudes Required or Desired: Working knowledge of gas and diesel engine repair. Electrical, brake & cooling systems.

Physical and Mental Efforts:

· This position requires a high level of physical and mental endurance.

· Frequent standing, particularly for sustained periods of time.

· Frequent walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one part of the building to another.

· Constantly talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas to colleagues.

· Ability to hear and listen to detailed information through oral communication.

· Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision.

· Ability to handle and balance multiple demands at the same time.
