McKinney Vento Tutor

The McKinney-Vento Tutor provides targeted, one-on-one and small-group academic support to students experiencing housing instability. This position focuses on closing learning gaps, fostering academic resilience, and delivering trauma-informed instruction tailored to each student's unique circumstances.

Key Responsibilities

• Academic Support: Deliver individualized tutoring in core subjects to address learning gaps, homework assistance, and skill recovery.
• Trauma-Informed Instruction: Implement compassionate, trauma-informed educational strategies that accommodate the emotional and environmental stressors associated with housing instability.
• Collaboration: Partner with the district McKinney-Vento Liaison, classroom teachers, and school counselors to align tutoring sessions with classroom curricula and learning goals.
• Adaptability: Adjust instructional methods, materials, and locations based on shifting student needs and temporary living situations.
