Location: District Office

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES

To prepare, process, and distribute payroll efficiently and accurately while providing accounts payable
support as a member of the Business Office. Work collaboratively with Business Services staff to
ensure timely processing of payroll, vendor payments, and financial transactions while maintaining
compliance with District policies and applicable regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES

  • Prepare, process, and distribute payroll for all district employees.
  • Prepare and process employee payroll deductions.
  • Reconcile payroll and employee deductions regularly to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare, process, and submit biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll-related r eports.
  • Prepare, process, and distribute employee income tax reports (W-2 forms).
  • Respond promptly and accurately to payroll inquiries, including employment verification
  • requests.
  • Input, manage, and maintain accurate payroll information and records.
  • Ensure compliance with Board policy, State and Federal laws, and regulations
  • governing payroll practices.
  • Process accounts payable vouchers, invoices, purchase orders, and warrants in a timely
  • manner.
  • Assist with vendor correspondence, use tax reporting, 1099 preparation, and annual audit
  • activities.
  • Provide support for accounts payable, fixed asset records, audit preparation, and
  • other Business Office functions as assigned.
  • Cross-train and work collaboratively with other members of the Business Office.
  • Attend meetings, district activities, and training as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff and the public.
  • Represent the District in a professional manner and in the best interest of the District.
  • Perform additional duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned by the
  • Executive Director of Business Services.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices (payroll experience preferred).
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred; or two
  • years of payroll, accounting, or business office experience.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with coworkers, administrators,
  • vendors, and the public.
  • Ability to use discretion concerning sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience/training utilizing office technology including, but not limited to, phone,
  • computer, printer, copier, and scanner.
  • Experience/training utilizing office computer software including, but not limited to, word
  • processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet applications. Experience with financial and p ayroll
  • software systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of general office practices, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Must be eligible for fingerprint clearance.
  • Understand and carry out assigned work with minimal supervision.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and a cceptable.

  • 12 Months (207 Days)
  • 10 Hours Per Day, Monday-Thursday
  • Sick/Personal & Vacation Leave

  • Benefits per Board Policy

COMPENSATION
Level 8 - Support Staff Wage Schedule ($19.19-$20.14 hourly)
