Licensed Practical Nurse - Rochester City School District

LOCATION OF POSITION: Fairport, NY 14450; Rochester City School District
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10-Month Position, Full-Time
STARTING DATE: September 2026
SALARY RANGE: $32,600 - $51,021 per school year
*Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.

• DUTIES:
• Duties may include, but not limited to:
• Performing treatments and procedures such as (but not limited to) soaks, recording vital signs and weight, medication administration, accompanying students on trips.
• Screening students for illnesses, including COVID-19 assessments, height, weight, scoliosis, vision, hearing.
• Administer first aid as needed using School Health Services medical policies.
• Communicate appropriately with School Nurse, school personnel and parents.
• Carry out medical providers' orders as required.
• Have working knowledge of school health care regulations.
• Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Administer medications at other locations as needed.
• Work with diabetic students to assist in becoming self-directed.

• QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1.Civil Service eligibility as a Licensed Practical Nurse: Possession of a valid New York State Registered Professional Nursing (RN) license or valid New York State Licensed Professional Nursing (LPN) license.
• Must have one year experience as Licensed Practical Nurse.
• AED/CPR Certification required; must renew with Monroe One BOCES.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Must be able to perform CPR in a kneeling/floor-based position for a minimum of two continuous minutes. (This requirement is job-related and consistent with business necessity because: (1) due to the nature of the workplace, this individual may be the only person on-site who is certified to perform CPR and (2) in almost all cases, the individual in need of CPR is at ground level.)
• Physically able to perform essential job functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation), which may or may not include, responding to emergency situations quickly (may require running up/downstairs, or running to sports field areas).
