Bus Driver

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to transport students safely and efficiently across the district. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to safety, and a passion for working with children. The Bus Driver will play a critical role in ensuring that students arrive at school and other activities on time, while providing a positive and supportive environment during transit.

• Responsibilities
• Safely operate a school bus according to established routes and schedules.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in safe working condition.
• Ensure the safety of all passengers by enforcing rules and regulations while on the bus.
• Assist students in boarding and disembarking the bus, particularly those with special needs.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation schedules and any issues that may arise.
• Maintain a clean and organized bus interior.
• Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate authorities.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as district policies.
• Attend training sessions and safety meetings as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Requirements
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
• Clean driving record with no serious traffic violations.
• Previous experience driving a bus or similar vehicle preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with children and adults.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
• Knowledge of safety practices and procedures related to school transportation.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.
• First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
