About this role
Description:
The Nassau BOCES Department of Special Education is seeking a Speech Teacher � Leave Replacement.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting speech and language re-evaluations for special education students
- Delivering individual and group speech services, as per student IEP mandates
- Maintaining accurate records, speech session notes, and Medicaid related documents
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and component school districts
Requirements:
- NYSED Certification � Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of Speech and Language Disabilities
- NYS Speech-Language Pathology License and Certificate of Clinical Competence � American Speech-Language-Hearing Association are preferred
- Experience working with children and adolescents with Autism and/or emotional and behavioral disorders is also preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
