The New Rochelle City School District is seeking Secondary Special Education Teachers for our 8:1:2/12:1:2 ABA/Life Skills program. (This position is for the full school year). Successful candidates must have NYS Teacher Certification and experience working with children with Autism and related disabilities. Bi-lingual applicants are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivery of Specially Designed instruction as aligned with district-wide Life Skills Curriculum.
• Application of the principles of ABA across all domains, including academic, communication, social and behavioral.
• Conducting individualized criterion-referenced inventories of behavior repertoires (assessments) for all students on an annual basis.
• Provide individualized instruction to all students with a minimum per student and measures, graphs, and analyzes all students’ progress on all IEP objectives daily.
• Analyzes student progress on a daily or moment to moment basis and working closely with Behavior Intervention Specialist to design phase and change and note objectives for each student.
• Work with Behavior Intervention Specialist on the development of curricula and behavior procedures to be followed in the class
• Carrying out and maintaining all instructional aspects of a student’s IEP.
• Completing progress reports and Annual Review reports for the IEP’s.
• Delivering classroom instructional programs and adjusting based on the needs of the students.
• Collaborate with peers and support staff.
• Attend all departmental meetings and trainings.
• Maintaining a classroom environment that is conducive to instruction.

NYS Certification is required at time of application.
