Head Softball Coach – Newark High School (anticipated)

Position Summary:

Newark High School is seeking a Head Varsity Softball Coach to lead and develop student-athletes while creating and guiding the overall vision of the softball program. This role focuses on skill development, strategy, teamwork, sportsmanship and building/sustaining a competitive program. Start Date: February 22nd
Stipend: $4117.41 (plus pay for years of experience)

Responsibilities:

- Plan and lead daily practices focused on skill development and fundamentals

- Coach and supervise athletes during games, practices, and team events

- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship and a positive team culture

- Develop the varsity program's philosophy and expectations

- Communicate effectively with players, parents and coaching staff

- Support student-athlete academic success and eligibility

Qualifications:

- Previous softball coaching or playing experience preferred

- Strong knowledge of fundamentals and player development

- Ability to build relationships and rapport with high school athletes

- Must be willing to complete all IHSA and district coaching requirements

Evaluation:

-Performance will be evaluated by the athletic director based on program development, team culture, organization, communication, sportsmanship and alignment with athletic program values.
