Special Education Instructional Coach.
Implement support for special education services across the academy. Provide
guidance, resources, and expertise to general education and special education teachers
to ensure high-quality, tailored instruction for students with special needs. Facilitate
professional development, collaboration, and best practices to enhance student
achievement and inclusive learning environments.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

● Valid Texas teaching certificate
● Valid Texas special education certification (PK-12

Special Knowledge/Skills:

● Knowledge of special education laws, best practices, instructional strategies, human
development, and learning theories
● Expertise in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs),
assistive technology, and inclusive practices
● Excellent organizational, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills

Experience:

● Three years teaching experience required
● Special education teaching or coaching experience preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

● Be a role model; uphold school vision of nurture, character, discipline, and academic
excellence.
● Provide ongoing professional development and training to teachers, equipping them
with knowledge and skills to address diverse needs of students with disabilities.
● Work closely with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans
(IEPs) and instructional strategies tailored to students with special needs.
● Foster collaboration between general education and special education teachers to
promote inclusive practices and supportive learning environments.
● Serve as a resource for teachers, providing access to instructional materials, assistive
technology, and other supports for high-quality special education services.
● Contribute to improved academic outcomes and overall success for students with
special needs through targeted support and intervention strategies.
● Establish and maintain a collaboration framework with administrators, teachers, and
stakeholders to ensure coordinated support for students with special needs.
● Implement evaluation and feedback systems to assess the effectiveness of coaching
support and drive continuous improvement.
● Assist in the selection and management of special education resources and
equipment.
● Consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and other relevant individuals to
enhance work with students and interpret educational needs.
● Develop and maintain effective individual and group relationships with students,
parents, and staff.
● Compile, maintain, and file all paper and electronic reports, records, and other
documents required.
● Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education
rule, and local board policy in the areas of special education support, coaching, and
professional development.
● Comply with all district and local campus routines and regulations.
● Participate in professional development activities to improve skills related to job
assignment.
● Maintain a positive and effective relationship with supervisors.
● Effectively communicate with colleagues, students, and parents.
● Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Working Conditions/Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Regular district wide travel to multiple work
locations as assigned; moderate lifting and carrying.
