Maintenance Technician

Qualifications & Description of Position/Responsibilities:

• To Perform duties related to the general care and maintenance of buildings and grounds.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and move heavier materials using appropriate equipment.
• Safely operate and work from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and personnel lifts.
• Ability to operate a variety of equipment and tools associated with building repair and maintenance, preventive maintenance and construction, in a safe and effective manner.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, building materials and emergency maintenance.
• Keep records of assignments and prepare and complete required work reports.
• Interact with all job trades in a positive manner. *Respond promptly to building emergencies.
• Mandatory snow removal when required.
• Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment and keep secure at all times.
• Perform other duties and assume responsibilities related to the operation of the B & G Dept, as may be assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds or designees.

*Must pass 90-day probation period.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• In possession of a valid Black Seal Boiler Operator's license or higher.
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
• Proven knowledge of general maintenance skills.
• Proficient in computer applications pertinent to support the position and ability to use computer equipment to complete reports, generate service orders, maintain inventories, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a school environment with students.
• Competent in all trades and proficient in at least one of the following: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, tile setting and laying, roofing, painting, cutting and masonry, and concrete work.

Salary: $58,150 (minimum) to $72,050 (maximum) commensurate with experience
