Substitute Teacher

Position Details

• Location: Wescott, Willowbrook, and Maple School
• Department: Office of the Principal
• Reports to: Building Principal or School Administrative Assistant
• Pay: Days 1-20: $150 per day; Days 21+: $160 per day ($150 + $10 bonus)

Position Summary

We are seeking passionate and dedicated substitute teachers to maintain continuity of instruction in the absence of regular classroom teachers. This role requires the ability to adapt quickly, implement lesson plans effectively, and create a positive learning environment that inspires and motivates students. Substitute teachers work across multiple grade levels and subject areas, supporting the diverse learning needs of students in our schools.

School Hours and Expectations

• Elementary Schools (Willowbrook and Wescott): 8:40 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.
• Maple Middle School: 8:35 a.m. to 3:35 p.m.
• Substitute teachers must arrive no later than 20 minutes before the start of their assigned duties

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Valid Illinois Substitute Teaching License or Professional Educator License registered in Region 05 North Cook ISC
• Ability to implement lesson plans and adapt instruction to meet students' needs
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain standards of student behavior
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Flexibility in accepting assignments across various grade levels and subject areas
• Ability to work cooperatively with school personnel in a positive manner
• Other qualifications of academic, professional, and personal excellence, as the Board may specify
