Terms and Conditions: Full-time, 12 months, 8 hours per day.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary: $23.77 per hour, grade 1 per Classified Personnel Association

Oak Park and River Forest High School, or OPRF, is a comprehensive public high school located in Oak Park, Ill., a suburb eight miles due west of downtown Chicago. We are a one-school district, with the majority of our students coming from two sender districts, River Forest Public Schools District 90 and Oak Park Elementary School District 97. We offer more than 200 courses, a variety of programs for students with special needs, 75 clubs and activities, and 29 competitive sports. We prepare our students well for post-secondary success, with an average ACT composite score of 24 and a 94% graduation rate.

Job Summary:
Performs office clerical support in an efficient, organized, and timely manner as described below.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of general functioning of the entire school. Must have proficient skills in Microsoft computer applications, have great customer service skills, be able to multitask, and be a great team player. Ability to maintain good working relationships with all community contacts, citizens, general public, newspapers, community organizations as well as students, parents, faculty, and staff. Must be able to type 65 wpm. Considerable skill in organizing work effectively and prioritizing demands in a timely manner.
Job Functions:
- Coordinates a variety of division/department activities, for the Division and departments, involving but not limited to scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, inventory management, class schedules, attendance/subs, grades, evaluations (certified and classified), and Special Education transportation.
- Uses word processing system to prepare a variety of typed documents, e.g., correspondence, proposal, and reports.
- Plans, organizes and maintains Division/department files to assure completeness, adherence to schedules and responsiveness to member needs in preparation for IEP meetings.
- Processes purchase orders, maintains budget and prepares regular budget summary reports.
- Responsible for secretarial and record keeping tasks related to off-campus and residential placements including but not limited to IWAS, grants, budgets, reports, invoices and referral packets.
- Maintains inventory of division/department supplies and reference catalogs.
- Serves as special education summer school (ESY) secretary of both on-campus and off-campus programs which includes transportation.
- Assist with filing 8th grade folders and incoming transfer students during summer.
- Supports, promotes and cooperates in the achievement of the division/department purpose regarding continuous quality improvement and teamwork goals within the division and within the district.
- Composes internal and external correspondence.
- Maintains operational equipment and oversees repairs when required.
- Facilitates distribution of in-house/outside mail.
- Provide positive customer service to all internal and external clients.
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree, or 2-3 years of experience. Competency in Windows and Word Programs required.
Physical Requirements:
Standing, sitting, lifting, carrying, reaching, fine motor dexterity, talking, hearing, near visual acuity required.
Environmental Conditions:
Standard office conditions.
