Substitute Teacher Aide

Job Description: To replace the Regularly Appointed Teacher Aide in the classroom during his/her absence. This work involves responsibility for the performance of routine classroom duties and non-professional tasks. Teacher Aides are to ensure the progression of education by providing assistance to teachers in the classroom. Teacher Aides are to cooperate in a supportive role carrying out developmentally appropriate activities. Classroom Teacher Aides are to promote the health and education of the children and to attend to their safety and welfare. A Teacher Aide provides classroom and instructional support to students under the general supervision of a Certified Teacher or the Building Principal.

Requirement: Civil Service application - Non-competetive

Board of Education approved rate.

Substitute Teacher Aide: $107.00 per day
