PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of

safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.

Education

None specified

Special Knowledge/Skills

Understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures

Ability to operate cleaning equipment

Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies

Experience:

Custodial cleaning experience preferred

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Sweep, dust and freshen classrooms. Empty paper containers, clean chalkboards and straighten chair arrangement in each classroom.
• Buff and/or mop hallways, classrooms, cafeterias and office areas as needed or directed.
• Restrooms are to be cleaned thoroughly, disinfectants should be used regularly, and restroom areas are to be kept odor-free.
• Sweep walks, entry ways and hallways.
• Turn off lights and secure the rooms and/or building as cleaning process has been completed.
• Perform any and all other duties which may be assigned by the lead building service worker, principal and district supervisor.

Lifting 30 lbs. or more; stooping, bending or kneeling; walking, climbing or
