Reports to:

Director of Special Education or designee

Description: The district is seeking experienced teachers to serve as Home Instructors for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates must be available to work during the school day and will serve on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, proficiency-based lessons using communicative and immersive teaching methods
• Develop and implement modified lessons that builds skills in interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational communication; incorporate authentic materials, technology, and real-world applications into instruction
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of the learner, including using a variety of formative and summative assessments aligned with proficiency guidelines
• Create a positive learning environment that encourages learning and critical thinking
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Valid NJDOE teaching certification/license or eligibility to obtain
• Experience at the high school level preferred
• Strong content knowledge and passion for teaching
• Excellent communication skills

Compensation:

• $60 per hour
