Substitute Teacher

The Substitute Instructional Employee plays a vital, flexible role in maintaining educational continuity and a positive, structured learning environment across Rockbridge County Public Schools. Acting in the place of a regular classroom teacher or paraprofessional during their absence, the substitute delivers pre-planned instruction, reinforces curriculum, monitors student behavior, and ensures safety. Under the direction of school administrators, the substitute adapts to varying grade levels, diverse student learning styles, and provides direct academic, emotional, and physical assistance tailored to individual student needs, including those with special needs.
