About this role

Job Summary:
The elementary teacher will instruct a 2nd grade class in basic curriculum areas. The teacher will cooperatively work with other classroom teachers, pupil personnel team, and complementary subject area teachers. The teacher will be responsible for the students of the assigned class, effectively teaching the curriculum to meet individual needs of students, evaluating student progress, and communicating progress to parents.

Organizational Relationship:
The Teacher reports directly to the Building Administration.

Qualifications:

  • Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator Licensure, preferred
  • Illinois State Board of Education SUB license, required
  • Solution-focused approach to supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of all children
  • Experience working within an elementary school setting and a diverse (culturally, racially, ethnically, linguistically etc.) student population
  • Fluency in a second language, preferred

Compensation: $349 per day.

Substitute teachers doing daily or long-term assignments do not have a contract of employment for any guaranteed period of time. A long-term substitute teacher may be given an estimated timeline of the assignment; however, the beginning and end dates are subject to change due to District needs and satisfactory performance of the long-term substitute teacher. Daily and long-term substitute teachers are considered "at-will" employees and are not eligible to receive benefits.
