Interpreter/Translator – District Programs & Events

Southampton Union Free School District is seeking qualified applicants to provide interpretation and translation services in support of District programs, meetings, and events. Applicants will be placed on a list as needed, based on District needs and scheduled events.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation services during District events and meetings.
• Provide interpretation services during Board of Education meetings, as needed.
• Support School Comprehensive Education Plan (SCEP) meetings and related activities.
• Translate documents, communications, and messages as requested.
• Provide clear and accurate communication between the District and students, families, and community members.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling District information and communications.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Spanish
• Ability to accurately interpret verbal communications and translate written materials.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Availability to work scheduled meetings and events, which may include evening hours.
