Maintenance Mechanic II- Facilities

The Spencerport School District is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Mechanic II. Applicants will be reviewed and selected candidates will be contacted for an interview.

*Applicants must be fingerprinted and cleared for employment for the NYS Education Department before employment begins.

Civil Service: This is a Civil Service non-competitive class position and the successful candidate must meet all Civil Service requirements for employment by the Spencerport Central School District.

Duties: This position works in the facilities department and operates trucks, riding/push lawnmowers, snowplows, and other motorized equipment; performs mechanical repairs on outdoor equipment including tractors, lawnmowers, snow removal and other motorized equipment; performs grounds maintenance work, lawn cutting and maintenance, and ice and snow treatment and removal; other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus one (1) year of experience as a skilled worker in one or more of the more of the electrical, mechanical or construction trades. New York State CDL license within six months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in maintenance of electrical systems, mechanical repair on automobiles, trucks, tractors and other mechanical and motorized equipment, as well as a general facilities maintenance practices and procedures.

Appointment: Full-time (8 hours per day), 12 months. Monday-Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM*
Salary/Rate of Pay: Starting at $23.45 per hour, based on previous experience
