ANNOUNCEMENT OF SUBSTITUTE TEACHING VACANCY

2025 - 2026 School Year

Position: Substitute Teacher
Location: Springfield Local Schools

Qualifications:
All substitute teachers must be approved for employment by the Board of Education prior to payment for services rendered.

Substitute teachers must have the following paperwork on file:

• On-Line Submitted Application, including a resume
• Ohio Teaching Certificate/License or Ohio Substitute Teaching License
• Official or Copy of Official Transcripts if relevant
• Three Letters of Reference (recent and non-family member)
• Current BCI and FBI Check (within 1 year) (Can be completed by SLS at Central Office, will cost $51.00)

It is the responsibility of the substitute teacher to:

*Training regarding below qualifications provided and required prior to district approval of substitute licenses.

• Report to the school office by the substitute teacher starting time
• Maintain as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom where assigned.
• Establish and maintain order in the classroom.
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
• *Establish a climate that promotes fairness and respect.
• *Use positive verbal and non-verbal skills that enhance learning.
• Cooperate with school personnel.
• *Maintain confidentiality of all information concerning students, staff, or parent/guardian in any public setting.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by building administrator(s) in accordance with school policies and practices.
• Complete the regular teacher’s lesson plans, extra duties, assignments and leave information for the regular teacher about what was done during the school day.
• Promote the proper use and care of school property.
• *Incorporate the effective use of available technology
• Uphold computer technology acceptable use policies.
• Accept personal responsibility for decisions and conduct.
• Take and record attendance
