Part-Time Early Childhood Special Education Teacher - 3 to 5 year olds (0.5-0.8 FTE)(Immediate Start)

Our district consists of one primary school for kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12.

Position Overview & Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and providing specialized, research-based instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. Also responsible for evaluating and assessing student progress against instructional objectives and following state mandated due process procedures and functions. Start date: Immediate Start/Date TBD
FTE: 0.5 FTE - 0.8 FTE, depending on final schedule as determined between the Special Services Department and the candidate at the time of hire.

Contract: General contract = 186 days

Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education and required teaching certificate in Special Education as required by the State of Minnesota, specific content knowledge, training, or job experience required before appointment, and successful student teaching. Dual licensure preferred but not required.

Assignments

Special education teachers work by district assignment and may be moved between buildings and/or programs based on student needs, location of certain programs, student count(s), and applicable licensure.

Salary
Starting salary range is pro rated depending upon the final FTE (1.0 FTE = $48,292-$90,967)(Listed range of $24,146 - $72,773 is the lowest range for 0.5 FTE and the highest range for 0.8 FTE). Rates listed are for the full 186-day contract; salary will be prorated depending on start date for the 2026-2027 School Year, and full salary would be earned for subsequent school year.
