Job description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Performs routine manual work; does related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

This is routine manual work requiring no previous training or experience, but requiring physical endurance and willingness to perform menial tasks. Works under general supervision.

EXAMPLES OF WORK: (Illustrative only)

Mows, rakes, trims, edges and cuts grass

Plants and cares for flowers, shrubs, trees

Cleans, plows and removes snow from sidewalks, steps and parking lots

Applies salt or ice melt by various means to sidewalks, steps and parking lots

Makes minor repairs to buildings, sports stadiums, bleachers and fencing

Raises and lowers the American flag and maintains flagpoles

Paints sports turf and practice fields, poles, buildings

Performs labor tasks as requested by the Director of Facilities and or the Director of Athletics Physical

Education and Health

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

· Valid New York State Class D driver’s license at the time of the appointment and to maintain such license throughout employment in this title
