Assistant Director of Food and Nutrition Services

• Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics (RD or MS preferred) � OR � a minimum of 5 years' school food service management experience
• Illinois Food Sanitation Certification
• School Nutrition Association (SNA) Certification or credential (preferred)
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace
• Proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) systems
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, management, and customer service skills

Position Summary: The Assistant Director of Food and Nutrition Services supports the Director in administering and overseeing departmental operations, including personnel management and training, budgeting, menu planning, procurement, regulatory compliance, financial accountability, food safety, and equipment and inventory management. The Assistant Director assists with the administration of the National School Lunch, School Breakfast, Child and Adult Care Food, and Summer Food Service Programs and helps ensure high-quality, efficient, and financially responsible services that support student health and wellbeing.

• Key Responsibilities:
• Supports the Director in the administration, planning, coordination, and evaluation of the District's school nutrition programs.
• Supervises the day-to-day operations of the District's Food and Nutrition Services program and assists with ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations.
• Assists and monitors established standards, policies, and procedures related to nutrition, cleanliness, health, food safety, and sanitation.
