Food and Nutrition Services Manager

• Qualifications:
• Illinois Food Sanitation Certification
• Knowledge of food purchasing, sanitation procedures, and equipment operation
• Experience in school food service management
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace
• Proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) systems
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, management, and customer service skills
• Ability to bend, stoop, turn, squat, and lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds
• Ability and willingness to respond to after-hours calls via telephone and work overtime to respond to emergencies (broken cooling equipment, etc.) as directed

Position Summary: The Food and Nutrition Services Manager works with the Assistant Manager as a team to manage daily functions of the cafeteria and ensure the organized, efficient operation of the food service programs in their assigned building.

• Key Responsibilities:
• Manages the daily operation of the school's food service program.
• Provides leadership and supervision to food service staff to support efficient operations, quality service, and a positive work environment.
• Ensures established standards for food quality, nutrition, sanitation, safety, financial accountability, and customer service are maintained.
• Supports the goals of the Food and Nutrition Services Department and communicates operational needs and concerns to District-level administration.
